Hello hello hello! Well some good news and some bad news. First we'll do some bad news. I have been bed ridden for the last four days now, due to some torn muscles along my lower back.

Now the good part! I have been actually drawing and getting stuff done. I have redone or recovered a lot of the missing commission work (from a crashed PC) with more on the way. My new laptop has been sick! Getting stuff done on a touch display has been a good change. I even got the lines almost done on my Star Wars "Courier" piece.

Toning down the initial sketch and cleaning up the unwanted parts, I am adding a little texture for  the piece. Soon I will be done with the lines and clean those up a bit and on to Flat colors!

Stay tuned and thanks for all the great comments!

Wilsh and Tis "Courier" Rough
Hello folks! I know it has been way too long since my last post. Well a lot has happened recently that took a bit of my time. But now I am back and getting ready for some more art projects that are coming my way. In the mean time I saw the new Force awakens trailer and it started up some old beloved memories of my days playing STAR WARS the Role playing game. So I started this fun little rough of two characters I absolutely loved. My OC Jedi Knight, Wilsh Litok and his lady friend slash mercenary for hire Tis Harn who was the creation of one of my good buddies.

I love the title courier, it kinda sets the mood for the adventure these two would be having. Obviously an important message must be delivered by these two, but dark forces start to conspire against them.

Anyway stay tuned and keep sending in those comments I love so much. Thank you.

WOW! Well hello...

Wow where to begin well lets go down the following.

1. Computer is back up and running at full capacity, F you adware and malware, and a big thanks to googles beta malware remover.

2. Unfortunately during the reformat phase I lost all my code keys to my current art software. Lame!

3. I decided not to beat around the bush about it anymore and have just purchased Manga Studio 5 EX, the super pro edition of my beloved software.

4. For those of you who have been waiting on me I apologize for there has been no real convenient way to communicate.

5. I will have more art up and running soon and will be opening up my commissions schedule soon in about a month or so. So if you have any ideas now is the time to start thinking things up.

6. Easter was awesome I ate a lot of ham and deviled eggs.

SET THE TONE!

Hello everyone! Wow what a crazy couple of months it has been. Well I finally got some down time at the house and since I am waiting for another load of laundry, I figure I write up another post for my samurai pic I have been picking at.

So last we left I applied the flats to the image, In this post I am applying some base tones. Using a simple brush tool I have been laying down some reds that are a bit darker than the flat. When I am doing this I am trying to keep an image in my head as to how the clothing has shape and weight. I am not shadowing the image as of yet, but more just adding a bit of texture to it just for a little extra detail. Keeping it simple and touching it up as I go.

After I am satisfied with my tones layer, I will follow it up with smoothing out the dark red to create a little blend between the reds. So stay tuned!

Clean Lines

Hello everyone I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a festive New Years Eve. I am back to the drawing boards once again and have been putting some more touches on the "Cohi and Sakura travel the road" piece.

As you can see from previous entrees I have touched up the sketch with tighter lines, separated the characters with a base grey, and have started to apply nice solid lines to the image. A little more detail is added to the characters at this stage, eyes, facial expression, and little clothing touch ups.

My next step will be to finish up the lines. Then I can start working on the background and bring it out a bit, so stay tuned.
